Thanks to Jordan Sorcery, I was made aware of Gov.uk's registered design search. On there you can find registered designs for all manner of products. Jordan posted about the bolter shell shaped Citadel paint pot. So I had to check it they had the old hex pot too.

Registered in 1993, this design was officially protected up until 2008. This means, in theory, anyone can recreate this design of paint pot - though hopefuly they won't, for as nostalgic as I can be, these pots were a nightmare compared to the ease of modern dropper bottles.
Still, it's fun to get a glimpse into the process that went into designing such an iconic piece of the tabletop hobby - especially seeing as I used the basic design outline for my logo.
